Bryan Clauson joined the USAC “100 Club”
With his victory in the January 29th “Winter Challenge” 30-lap USAC Southwest/West Coast Sprint Car race at Canyon Speedway in Peoria Arizona, Bryan Clauson joined the elite United States Auto Club (USAC) 100-win club.
Clauson joined a historic group of six racers who have captured 100 USAC feature events wins that also include Rich Vogler, Sleepy Tripp, Mel Kenyon, A.J. Foyt, and Dave Darland.
Clauson reached the historic 100-win plateau at age 26; the next youngest 100-race winner is A.J. Foyt who was age 33. Rich Vogler scored his 100th win at age 34, Ron “Sleepy” Tripp was 35 years of age, Darland 47 years old, and Mel Kenyon was age 49 at the time of his 100th win.
Rich Vogler leads all USAC drivers with 171 feature victories, Foyt with 162, Sleepy Tripp 161, Kenyon 131, Dave Darland 109 victories, and Bryan Clauson at 100 and counting, with Clauson chasing an ambitious “Circular Insanity” 200-race schedule for the 2016 season.
